Aspects of the choice between fog and cloud technologies

Currently, there are no uniform system recommendations for the use of cloud or fog data processing technologies. Often, options are evaluated subjectively according to criteria that in most cases are qualitative. The authors, using the results of a comparative analysis based on the analysis of hierarchies, formulate recommendations for choosing between cloud and fog platforms, depending on the user's initial requirements. The developed methodology served as the basis for an objective choice of a platform option for one of the data processing projects for their use in the Smart City system.
