The article is devoted to questions about the impact of anthropogenic activity on soil ecology. The characteristic of negative ecological consequences of anthropogenic activity is given. Anthropogenic activity associated with waste from various types of industrial production leads to increased degradation and pollution of soils. The sources of soil pollution as a result of anthropogenic activity are described. The concentration of chemical elements in soils in the zone of influence of industrial enterprises is presented. The analysis of the impact on the soil of the main types of pollutants - heavy metals, oil and oil products. The role of soil monitoring in order to optimize environmental protection measures is shown. The results of soil monitoring from 2013 to 2021 are presented. on the territory of Russia, which made it possible to detect the level of soil pollution with heavy metals and oil products. It is shown that the analysis of soil cover pollution allows one to give an objective assessment of the environmental consequences of anthropogenic changes in soils.
