BARIATRIC SURGERY AS A FUNDAMENTAL METHOD FOR THE TREATMENT OF MORBID OBESITY

The article considers bariatric surgery as a fundamental method of treating morbid obesity. Bariatric surgery is defined as a surgical procedure performed by a physician within the digestive tract to reduce a person's body weight. A theoretical analysis of scientific papers on the research problem was carried out. The classification of bariatric surgeries is given. The mechanisms of the impact of bariatric operations, the main purpose of which is to reduce excess body weight, have been identified. Contraindications for use in the fight against morbid obesity are highlighted. It is concluded that due to possible side effects after operations, today bariatric surgery is in the process of improvement, doctors are upgrading their skills in the framework of new technologies and developed methods, principles, methods of performing operations to restore the patient's body and combat morbid obesity.
