THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE WORK OF THE INTESTINE AND THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM

This article highlights the current experience of research in the field of communication between the work of the gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system. Thus, the work of the enteric nervous system - which regulates intestinal motility, the work of the liver and various glands, affects the central system through direct or indirect ways (metabolites, neurotransmitters). In turn, the effect on the central nervous system leads to a consequence - an effect on the functioning of the brain. This can lead to various diseases: neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders, which can lead to more serious diseases of the nervous system.
