Based on the data of an experimental study conducted on animals (primates), the possibilities of using the method of electrostimulation of tissues of the functional zones of the cavernous and genital nerves, used to objectify the restoration of erectile function, were evaluated in 24 patients with prostate cancer who underwent radical prostatectomy using robotics. In 13 observations, sensors for electrostimulation of tissues of the functional zones of the cavernous nerves after surgery were implanted synchronously with RPrE in order to objectify the restoration of erectile function and voluntary urination (study group). The control group (11 cases) consisted of patients who did not undergo electrode transplantation into the cavernous nerve zones. Information on the results of electrostimulation of the functional zones of the cavernous nerves in patients who underwent EPrE suggests that the possibilities of electrical action on body tissues in the postoperative period in the surgical intervention zone do not allow us to fully judge the elimination of erectile dysfunction. However, based on the indicators of electrical stimulation of tissues in the area of radical prostatectomy, it is possible to objectively judge the restoration of voluntary urination 1.5 months after surgery.
