The article presents the results of accounting and initial survey of small reservoirs in the suburbs of the largest Siberian urban agglomeration - the city of Novosibirsk (Novosibirsk district of the Novosibirsk region). Reservoirs have different origins, history, and economic purpose. Most of them are experiencing significant anthropogenic stress because the urbanization of the territory of Siberia remains higher than in general in Russia. The development of the territory of the Novosibirsk region is very dense. At the same time, the network of existing reservoirs in the Novosibirsk region has not been practically studied and is attributed to various organizations and village councils. In most cases, water quality control is not carried out, there are signs of a negative impact on the ecological state of the environment as a result of anthropogenic human activity. Most of the reservoirs of the territory under consideration are specific objects with several input and output channels of biological exchange with the environment, which significantly complicates their study.

Keywords:small reservoirs, hydroecology, classification, ecology, environmental pollution, water quality, anthropogenic impact
