This scientific article is dedicated to the rapid advancements in the field of research on genetic predictors of atrial fibrillation development. Molecular genetics has become a part of modern practical medicine, allowing for timely identification of risk factors and selection of individualized medication treatment methods. Numerous clinical studies show that the response to currently used antiarrhythmic therapy varies significantly, with some patients benefiting significantly (reduction in episodes of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation), while others experience worsening clinical symptoms. Global achievements in arrhythmia genetics research have explained the varying effectiveness of antiarrhythmic drugs. Modern guidelines for managing patients with atrial fibrillation emphasize the importance of implementing personalized treatment into clinical practice.
