Vaccine prevention of human papillomavirus was licensed in 2006; by 2023 it was included in the National Vaccination Programs in approximately 100 countries, but in Russia its inclusion in the calendar is only planned, although it already exists at the level of some regions (for example, in Moscow regional vaccination calendar). This article examines the reasons for hesitancy regarding HPV vaccine prevention in the Russian Federation, as well as the role of the medical community, in particular obstetricians and gynecologists, in expanding public awareness about the prevention of human papillomavirus infection.
