Introduction. The soft tissues of the forehead are the least changeable part of the human face. Thus, the forehead can be a qualitative extracranial reference point for determining the anterior-posterior position of the jaws. The goals and objectives of the study. To compare the computer method for determining the individual anterior-posterior boundaries of the central incisors of the upper jaw with the X-ray method for determining the boundaries from the lateral telerentgenogram of the head. Materials and methods of research. Patients participating in the study underwent 3D facial scanning and lateral teleregenography of the head. The clinical forehead was measured for all patients and the individual antero-posterior boundaries of the central incisors of the upper jaw were determined using a 3D model of the face and a lateral radiograph. The results were compared. The results of the study. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained by the X-ray method using the lateral telerentgenogram of the head and the data obtained by the computer method using the 3D model of the face, no statistically significant difference was found (p<0.05). Conclusions. The computer method based on a 3D model of the face is a reliable method for measuring the clinical forehead and determining the individual antero-posterior boundaries of the location of the FA point of the central incisors of the upper jaw.
