ASSESSMENT OF THE ANTERO-POSTERIOR POSITION OF THE CENTRAL INCISORS OF THE UPPER JAW RELATIVE TO THE CLINICAL FOREHEAD

The most harmonious faces are possessed by people whose central incisors of the upper jaw are located within the antero-posterior boundaries, which individually depend on the clinical shape of the forehead. Research objectives. To compare the antero-posterior positions of the central incisors of the upper jaw relative to the clinical forehead in adults who have not had orthodontic treatment with people after orthodontic intervention. Material and methods of research. The study involved 198 adults who, based on a questionnaire, were divided into two groups – those who did not undergo orthodontic treatment and those who underwent orthodontic treatment. Depending on the shape of the forehead, individual boundaries of the location of the central incisors of the upper jaw were determined on the lateral telerengenogram of the head and the location of the incisors within these boundaries was evaluated. Compared with people in the control group, people after undergoing orthodontic treatment mostly had the position of the central incisors outside the natural boundaries. conclusions. Natural anterior-posterior boundaries are qualitative goals for normalization of the anterior-posterior position of the central incisors of the upper jaw during orthodontic and/or orthognathic treatment.
