The efficiency and applicability of Petri nets are investigated in the context of modeling the operation of distributed open infrastructure systems with electric filling stations. In this study, a simulation of the work of the RSOI with the ESS was carried out using a Petri net built on the basis of an analysis of the features of this distributed system. It has been experimentally confirmed that Petri nets are applicable for modeling RSOI with ESS. This is due to the graph structure and extensive modeling capabilities of various dynamic discrete systems, which make it possible to simulate and identify the shortcomings of almost any complex system.
