Subject. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of gender and age on mandibular density in cancer patients. A retrospective cohort study included 45 cancer patients aged 26-81 years (mean age 55±12.88 years). Patients underwent standard PET - CT study in whole-body mode, and mandibular density was examined on CT. Multivariate analysis of variance was used to study the effect of sex and age on mandibular density. There was no statistically significant effect of gender (p=0,873) and age (p=0,098) on mandibular density scores in cancer patients. We attribute these results to the fact that, probably, the influence of gender and age on jaw density is leveled off under the influence of cancer and the treatment performed.
