The article deals with the problem of cardiomyopathy in diabetes mellitus, namely specific changes in the heart muscle that lead to the development of diastolic dysfunction. The aim of the study was to study the clinical features and patterns of changes in the main indicators of intracardiac hemodynamics in heart disease against the background of diabetic ketoacidosis in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. The results obtained indicate that early signs of impaired diastolic function of the left ventricle were detected in 37,7% of patients in the decompensation stage of type 1 diabetes mellitus with ketoacidosis. Diastolic dysfunction of the left ventricle was more often detected in patients with moderate and severe diabetic ketoacidosis – 65,1%, in contrast to patients with mild diabetic ketoacidosis – 25,8%.

Keywords:type 1 diabetes mellitus, ketoacidosis; diastolic function of the left ventricle.
