The purpose of the study: to analyze the problem of comorbidity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and tuberculosis (TB) of the lungs, which are common socially significant diseases with a high level of disability and mortality. At the same time, both diseases have the same type of risk factors: smoking, occupational, environmental hazards. According to the results of numerous studies presented in Russian and foreign scientific publications, despite the overall decrease in the incidence of TB, the number of cases of multidrug resistance of Mycobacterium TB (MDR TB) is increasing, which reduces the effectiveness of TB treatment and contributes to an increase in the mortality of this disease. Accordingly, the prevalence of comorbid pathology of COPD is also being updated. At the same time, in the case of a combination of COPD and pulmonary TB, a syndrome of mutual aggravation is observed: TB is characterized by more pronounced clinical symptoms, decay cavities with massive bacterial excretion are more often formed, chronic respiratory and heart failure develop more often, an unfavorable outcome of TB and a more severe course of COPD are noted. Taking into account the peculiarities of the comorbid course of these nosologies will clarify the nature of their mutual influence, assess the prognosis, and improve control over the effectiveness of treatment and preventive measures.

Keywords:COPD, tuberculosis, obstructive syndrome, diagnosis, therapy.
