The article analyzes the potential of introducing modern hardware and software based on microcontrollers into agrotechnical precision farming complexes to increase their efficiency and sustainable development. The research is based on the systematization of scientific literature and the analysis of existing practices for the implementation of automated systems in agriculture. The conceptual foundations of building monitoring and management systems in precision agriculture are considered, the economic and environmental aspects of their application are analyzed. A conceptual approach to the formation of a modular system adapted to the peculiarities of the Russian agro-industrial complex is proposed. The results of the study indicate the potential for optimizing resource consumption and increasing yields when implementing automated precision farming systems, however, taking into account the need for a thorough assessment of specific technical solutions for each agricultural enterprise.
