The article is devoted to the topic of an innovative approach to processing data obtained from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Unlike traditional solutions where computational operations are performed onboard, the proposed system shifts the main processing load to a ground-based personal computer. This approach significantly optimizes UAV design by reducing weight, power consumption, and onboard equipment complexity. A key advantage of the system is its cost-effectiveness. Since most computations are performed on the ground, there's no need for expensive high-performance onboard processors. This not only reduces UAV production costs but also enhances system reliability, as ground computers are easier to maintain and upgrade. Particular attention is paid to the fact that the proposed solution offers high adaptability. Ground software can be quickly updated with new image processing algorithms without requiring hardware modifications to the drones. This is particularly crucial for monitoring, mapping, and logistics applications where demands for data analysis accuracy and speed are constantly increasing. In the context of current socio-economic challenges facing the Russian Federation, implementing such technologies promotes import substitution and reduces dependence on foreign components. The system has already undergone successful testing, demonstrating its effectiveness in real-world conditions. Thus, transitioning to distributed data processing opens new prospects for UAV technology development, making it more accessible, reliable, and functional.
