ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MULTI-CHANNEL SPATIAL MASKING OF SPEECH IN ENCLOSED SPACES IN ORDER TO COUNTERACT LEAKS OF AUDIO INFORMATION

This scientific paper analyses the spatial effectiveness of multi-channel speech masking in enclosed spaces. A typical conference room measuring 6 × 4 × 3 m was used for modelling, with four masking noise sources located near the corners and a speech source located in the centre of the room. Based on a simplified model of acoustic propagation, the distribution of sound pressure levels (SPL) and local signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) was calculated. The SPL and SNR maps constructed allowed for the classification of speech privacy zones. The scientific paper examines in detail the dependence of the degree of masking effectiveness on the parameters of sound sources. Several approaches are proposed for optimising the space used and modelling sound sources in different positions to improve the overall effectiveness of acoustic speech protection.
