The aim of this study was to explore the feasibility of using a mathematical model to identify the most informative ultrasound and crystallographic features for describing fluid formations complicating acute destructive pancreatitis (ADP). A scoring system for evaluating the crystallographic pattern of fluid formations and ultrasound data for ADP complicated by the development of fluid formations was developed in a group of 36 patients. To differentiate fluid formations complicating ADP, we performed pancreatic ultrasound, followed by crystallographic evaluation of the fluid formation aspirate and evaluation of the resulting data using a scoring system. A multiparameter linear mathematical model was used to develop the scoring system. This mathematical model allows us to identify the most informative ultrasound and crystallographic features describing fluid formations that complicate the course of acute destructive pancreatitis, assign points to each feature, and determine the role of the sum of these points in the differential diagnosis of fluid formations (acute pseudocyst, acute fluid collection, pancreatic abscess). The mathematical model used allowed us to identify the most informative ultrasound and crystallographic features describing fluid formations that complicate the course of acute destructive pancreatitis, assign points to each feature, and determine the role of the sum of these points in the differential diagnosis of fluid formations (acute pseudocyst, acute fluid collection, pancreatic abscess). Timely diagnosis of these complications allows us to determine the optimal treatment strategy for patients at an early stage of their development, depending on the nature of the fluid formation.
Keywords:mathematical model, acute destructive pancreatitis, differential diagnosis of fluid formations.
