The article analyzes approaches to managing the risks associated with the processing of radioactive secondary raw materials at recycling facilities under strict environmental constraints. This study is relevant due to the need to ensure the safety of operations involving radioactive waste while minimizing its negative impact on the environment in accordance with strict regulatory requirements. The paper examines the main groups of risks that arise during the transportation, sorting, processing, and subsequent storage of raw materials.
It also highlights the approaches used to identify, assess, and mitigate these risks, including quantitative methods, system analysis tools, and the implementation of environmentally friendly technologies. A special emphasis is placed on including environmental constraints in the control loop, which involves controlling emissions and complying with international standards and regulations. The paper proposes management methods based on scenario modeling and formalized decision-making algorithms aimed at reducing environmental risks.
The paper provides examples of the practical application of these approaches at a recycling facility and evaluates their effectiveness in terms of environmental safety and sustainability of technological processes. The paper demonstrates that the proposed solutions can reduce environmental impact and improve the safety of radioactive waste processing. The paper's findings can be useful for radiation safety specialists, environmentalists, and engineers responsible for managing and optimizing technological processes.
