Functioning of the modern stock market: problems and development prospects

The article is devoted to the study of the features of functioning of the modern stock market through the prism of problems and prospects for its development. Prospects for the development of the modern stock market are associated with the shift of global growth to the East, the consolidation of financial institutions, the development of Internet technologies and the segment of derivative securities, the improvement of the market infrastructure, the change in the currency basket, the expansion of types of financial instruments. In turn, the problems are due to financial integration, the growing interdependence of stock markets on a global scale, the increased risk of rapid spread of crisis phenomena between segments of the world stock market, the increase in the scale and depth of financial crises, etc.
