Comparative analysis of the use of lidars and sodars to measure the wind velocity vector

Remote monitoring of the atmosphere, during which the parameters of air masses movement at distances up to 1 km are determined, is a very urgent task, since this information is in demand in many fields of science and technology, such as: aviation, environmental monitoring, meteorology, etc. the paper considers the means to remotely determine the parameters of air masses movement, their advantages and disadvantages. Based on this analysis, a forecast is made on the prospects for the development of monitoring tools based on different physical principles in terms of their wide application as mobile measuring instruments.
