The influence of the orthodox church to the crisis in the Russian empire in the early twentieth century

the article considers the problem of interaction between the Orthodox Church and Emperor Nicholas II at the beginning of the twentieth century. Some re-searchers, for example, P. N. Milyukov, V. B. Titlinov note that the actions of Church employees are one of the determining factors in the fate of monarchy in Russia. The Orthodox Church (mainly in the person of Synod) has not taken enforcement action against the current government. The author considers the normative basis for the activity of the Synod and comes to the conclusion that the Synod could have its regulations to Express support for secular govern-ment and, thus, played an important role in the fall of the autocracy.
