Assessment of risk of accidents in the oil and gas industry

The occurrence of accidents at hazardous production facilities is no exception for the oil and gas industry. Accidents happen very often, so important aspect is the evaluation of the risk of accidents, which is part of the safety of hazardous production facilities. Accidents often lead to unpredictable consequences, so the process of assessing their risk is more than a useful exercise, which can significantly reduce the number and consequences. This article describes how to assess the risk of accidents in the oil and gas industry. The basic methods of risk assessment in the industry were considered. Thus, the assessment of the risks of accidents is a very important measure to ensure industrial safety, because it allows to foresee the effects arising from their appearance. Detailed use of assessment of risks referred to in this article, will significantly reduce the consequences of accidents when they occur.
