The article in the aspect of the Russian criminal law reforms investigates problems of compensation harms caused by offense’ in the criminal process. Based on the analysis the thesis of need to improve the efficiency of the investigating activity in reparation of harms caused by the crime is proposed. It is proved that a special urgency in solving the problem of timely and full compensation for the harms caused by the crime, gets a further development of the theory of criminalistics situation.
