This work aims to study crowdfunding as a component of the network companies. The authors have considered aspects such as: the essence of crowdfunding, its positive and negative effects on the economy, and recommendations to the political structures for development of this method of raising funds to SMA. Analysis is reinforced by the overview of crowdinvestingplatforms existing in the internet environment. The paper describes the advantages and risks of using crowdfunding compared to other financial sources.
