Regional food balances: main analytical procedures

The intensification of problem of national food security under modern political and economic conditions requires actual and qualitative information concerning dynamics and structure of food market both on regional and state levels. The balance statements of general food resources are the major sources of information to provide analysis and make forecasts of future stability in consumption and required resources. The Russian Federation as a member of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations composes balance statements of food resources according to international methodology. Nevertheless there is no complex approach for providing economic analysis of food balances which reduces there informational value. In the article the author provides the complex of analytical procedures of research of regional food balance statements, used as a basis for providing analysis of food market of Saint-Petersburg.
