The article considers the criminal-legal characterization of the crimes provided for in Art. Art. 191.1 and 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The questions of delimitation of the aforementioned crimes from related crimes and administrative offenses are considered. Examples are given from judicial practice, as well as difficulties of law enforcement officers in qualifying. The authors pro-pose to classify as a whole the actions of the perpetrators who committed illegal logging of forest plantations (Article 260 of the Criminal Code), and then com-mitted actions for acquiring, storing, transporting, processing for sale or selling deliberately illegally harvested wood.
