National security as a state of legal order in the life of society and the state is the dominant factor in the self-preservation of Russian society. The reality of strengthening national security largely depends on a critical rethinking of many dogmas and stereotypes that have been established in legal science and law enforcement practice in understanding this phenomenon, the forms and methods of its provision in modern conditions. In the article, the author analyzes the theoretical and legal foundations of the administrative and legal regulation of the phenomenon of national security.
