The textile industry is one of the most developed branches of light industry in the world, which provides the population with vital products. The domestic textile industry, which has infrastructural, personnel, scientific, export potentials, a large capacity of the consumer market, at the same time needs structural modernization, improvement of raw material logistics flows, activation of the innovative component. In addition, the main problem is still the unsystematic and disordered structural transformations, the lack of a roadmap for the modernization of the textile industry at the regional level - the clustering of the industry. The process of reviving textile production should be provided with the necessary amount of domestic textile raw materials, which requires an analysis of the theoretical and methodological foundations for the formation of a strategy for the development of the industry. The relevance of the research topic is dictated by the need to rethink approaches to the management of the textile industry, streamline structural transformations and develop recommendations based on the determinants of regional economic development management policy.
