International transit of goods of the 27th group of the commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity in the territory of the Russian Federation

The Russian Federation is one of the largest oil exporting countries. Despite this, Russia imports a large amount of petroleum products, and also offers export transit of oil through railways, ports and pipelines of the Russian Federation within the framework of agreements and contracts. The main partner country for oil transit is Kazakhstan. The article provides an overview of the data of foreign trade statistics, from which it follows that in 2018 the trade turnover between Russia and Kazakhstan amounted to 18219255476 US dollars. Foreign trade turnover increased by 5.68% compared to 2017. In 2019, the values of the trade turnover of the two countries reached their record and amounted to 19621839163 US dollars, which means an increase of 7.7% compared to 2018. Due to the pandemic and the temporary closure of borders in 2020, the trade turnover decreased by 2.84% and amounted to 19065108341 US dollars. In addition to Kazakhstan, Belarus, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan transit goods of commodity item 2710 of the HS through the territory of the Russian Federation.
