This article analyzes the main directions of spending of the federal budget of the Russian Federation in 2018 - 2024. The priority budget items are highlighted, namely: social policy, national defense, national economy, national security and law enforcement; the structure of the federal budget is shown. Based on the analysis of budget expenditure items, conclusions are drawn regarding the comparability of defence and social expenditures. Special attention is paid to the analysis of forecast figures of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation in 2022 and for the planning period of 2023 and 2024. It is concluded that the federal budget for 2022 and for the planned period of 2023-2024 is a budget of stagnation and accumulation, where, in the conditions of record growth of the government's financial cup, the priority directions of budgetary expenditures are the termination of pandemic economic aid, reduction of spending on pensions, regions, medicine, increase spending on power structures and propaganda.
