The article is devoted to the analysis of the specifics of linear structures as specific objects of legal regulation. The classification of linear objects is carried out, an overview of the definitions of this concept available in legislation and in scientific publications is given, the signs of linear objects are formulated, some flaws of legal regulation in this area are shown. The conclusion about the complexity and interdisciplinarity of the legal regulation of public relations related to the design, construction and operation of linear objects is substantiated.
