State regulation of the economy as a tool for ensuring economic security of the country

The Russian economy is currently going through hard times. This is due to sanctions pressure, and fluctuations in economic development against the background of the globalization of the economy, as well as the conduct of a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. The country's economic system has also not yet fully recovered from the difficult period of the novel coronavirus pandemic, during which the country's enterprises had to make various decisions, from reducing production and staffing (which led to an increase in unemployment) to a complete shutdown of operations and closing of enterprises. The article considers the main theoretical and practical aspects of state regulation of the economy in order to ensure the necessary level of economic security of the country. This issue has acquired particular relevance in connection with the sanctions adopted against Russia by a number of countries. At the same time, the import substitution policy being implemented in Russia, launched in 2014, helps to neutralize a number of threats.
