Marriage is a complex legal category that has a transnational character. Often, citizens enter into marriage relations, that is, they register marriage on the territories of other states, while the subjects of such marriage relations may have radically different legal and social statuses. Hence, a significant question arises as to whether such registration will be recognized on the territories of various states, including on the territory of the Russian Federation.
