One of the important directions of the internal policy of the Russian state is criminal law activity, which, first, is aimed at strengthening the fight against serious and especially serious crimes, at the same time there is also a mitigation of criminal responsibility for crimes of small and medium gravity. This determined the introduction of new criminal penalties not related to isolation from society into the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, expanded the range of grounds for their application and improved the regulation of their execution. One of these criminal penalties is forced labor. This article discusses the distinctive features of this punishment.
The article analyzes the main problems of the appointment and execution of punishment in the form of forced labor and offers recommendations on how to eliminate the problems of this institution.
