The article discusses the concept of "adaptation" within the framework of various approaches. Identification of factors that emphasize the relevance of the study from a philosophical and sociological point of view. Within the framework of the philosophical approach, the concept of "social adaptation" has not been considered in depth. In the works of philosophers, adaptation was studied in the context of more significant concepts in the field of philosophical science, where such concepts as personality, society, and socialization appeared. Consideration of adaptation in the works of foreign and domestic sociologists, the origin and development of the concept of social adaptation.
