This article examines the interaction of civil law and theology – two spheres that have a significant impact on society and its structure. The analysis of this interaction includes the historical context, philosophical concepts, legal norms and practice of application. The author of the article analyzes current research and theoretical approaches to this problem. In particular, the role of religion in the formation of moral and ethical norms is considered, as well as the influence of state law on religious beliefs and freedom of religion. The question of the possibility of reconciling religious beliefs with civil law and ensuring equality of all citizens regardless of their religious affiliation is raised. The author concludes that jurisprudence and theology have used similar methods for many centuries, which were subsequently improved by theological science and are widely used in jurisprudence, which indicates the importance and expediency of studying both disciplines in interaction.
