The article examines the specifics of the development of the oil and gas sector of the economy, taking into account current conditions. The paper focuses on the specifics of the sustainability of this sector and ways to resolve strategic issues in the context of sanctions. Attention is paid to the comparative analysis of the stability of the oil and gas sector in contrast to the stability of other industries. The article also examines the functioning of oil and gas sector enterprises in modern conditions. The work resulted in generalizing conclusions regarding the main principles of sustainability of the oil and gas industry.
