Relevance. Currently, the system of international law is in a state of crisis, affecting various areas of legal regulation, including labor law. The solution to this problem is associated with the intensification of its scientific understanding using various methodological approaches, including focusing on the use of a comparative legal approach to the study of labor law phenomena.
Target. The situation described above determines the purpose of this article - to comprehend the system of international labor law from the standpoint of modern comparative studies.
Methodology. The methodology of this study is based on a philosophical paradigm for understanding the problems of legal regulation at various levels of the functioning of the legal system, as well as a methodology for systematically representing legal reality, which has at least two levels of organization (“supranational level” and “national level” of legal regulation).
Results. From the point of view of comparative studies, modern international labor law is a complex object of study, the center of which is the desire to universalize legal norms, and on the periphery there are national systems of labor law that interact with each other in the international legal space (when international legal norms are organically included in system of national labor legislation), as well as in the international space (when international legal norms become a common dominant for bringing together the labor legal systems of different states), and, in addition, in the space of the impact of national legal norms on the system of international labor law.
Conclusions. The conducted research makes it possible to say that the methodology of comparative law is an important part of understanding the essence of the modern system of international labor law and those problems that currently prevent its widespread use in solving labor legal problems in various countries and regions of the world.
