SOCIAL NORMS IN SOVIET SOCIETY

The article examines the dialectics of social norms in Soviet society. It is noted that Soviet legal science rejected the classical European concept of the category «social norm». Soviet legal scholars made an attempt to adapt existing scientific knowledge to existing political trends, namely: to present the category «social norm» from the standpoint of materialism. The authors define the signs of a social norm and, on their basis, formulate the definition of «social norm», reflecting the scientific understanding characteristic of Soviet legal science.
