CRITERIA FOR ASSESSING DIGITAL MATURITY BASED ON COMPARING THE LEVELS OF TECHNOLOGICAL AND MANAGERIAL READINESS

Zaretsky Evgeny Nikolaevich  (postgraduate student, Samara National Research University named after academician S.P. Korolev, Samara)

this paper explores the wide chasm between the theoretical capabilities of digital technologies and their real-world effectiveness in meeting corporate strategic objectives. The research highlights key hurdles such as organizations' lack of comprehensive readiness for significant transformational shifts and the sporadic implementation of digital tools which fail to align with the fast-paced evolution of the digital economy. It addresses the problematic reliance of contemporary businesses on antiquated business models and their insufficient integration of digital advancements, which endangers their competitive edge, adaptability, and capacity for innovation. The importance of a holistic approach in executing successful digital transformations is underscored in the discussion. The authors argue that only through a thorough assessment of change readiness, coupled with an ongoing commitment to enhancement, can organizations achieve successful outcomes in digital transformation. They have created a classification system for industrial companies based on their position within a digital matrix, pinpointing key areas for digital upgrades that are strategically important for future growth and investment. The paper also focuses on the crucial merger of technological and managerial strategies with digital transformation principles such as agility, data consolidation, interdisciplinary cooperation, and continuous education and growth. The research presents a table that correlates technological and managerial preparedness with digital transformation principles, offering a detailed evaluation of an organization’s current state and potential for digital evolution. The study notes that the prevailing level of digitalization in industries does not significantly influence innovation activities, as the management of digital processes is still underdeveloped. Emphasis is placed on examining managerial preparedness for digital transformation, which notably trails behind technological advancements. From their findings, the authors have formulated a methodology to classify enterprises by digital maturity levels and designed algorithms for strategic planning of digital initiatives, tailored to the specific digital circumstances of the enterprises.

Keywords:digital transformation, innovative development, development trajectories, regional industrial enterprises, multidimensional matrix modeling, positional matrix, digital maturity.
