The automobile industry is one of the key branches of national economy forming the volumes of industrial production. The Samara region is home to the leader of the automobile industry of our country - “Avtovaz” JSC. After the introduction of unprecedented sanctions against the Russian Federation, this industry has faced a number of additional problems caused by restrictions on access to technology, termination of supplies of most automotive components, logistical difficulties, etc. The purpose of this paper is to determine the main directions of formation of technological sovereignty of the automotive industry in the Samara region. In this paper the research of the content of the concept of technological sovereignty is carried out, and the author's definition of this category is given. The author investigated the values of some indicators characterizing the components of technological sovereignty at the level of the automotive industry of the Samara region. In particular, the number of developed advanced production technologies in this sphere, the level of innovation activity, the number of researchers, etc. The article defines the main directions of formation of technological sovereignty of the automotive industry in the Samara region. The analysis is carried out in the context of four components of technological sovereignty: scientific, innovative, technological and personnel. For each component the key trends are identified, as well as the problems and directions of development are revealed. Regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation, theoretical and methodological provisions, scientific publications of domestic and foreign authors on the issues under study are used as the main sources of information.
