This market serves as a platform for comparing the efficiency of forestry management under different forms of forest land ownership. The market price of roundwood acts as the criterion for efficiency. Prices of standing timber are directly related to the market prices of roundwood. Finland's experience in organizing the round timber market is a demonstration of effective forest resource management, creating conditions for stable operation of the forest sector in the future.
