In the context of accelerated digitalization and increasing geoeconomic turbulence, global value chains are undergoing a structural transformation, shaping new development trajectories for emerging market countries. This study analyzes the dialectical interaction of technological breakthroughs (such as AI, blockchain, and the Internet of Things) and growing protectionist barriers, determining their combined impact on the reconfiguration of production networks. Particular attention is paid to the dilemmas of "catch-up" development: on the one hand, digitalization creates opportunities for integration into high-tech segments of value chains, while on the other, increasing fragmentation of the global market exacerbates the risks of technological lag. Based on a comparative analysis of cases from Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe, adaptive strategies are proposed that combine the promotion of digital sovereignty with flexible integration into regional value chains.
