PROBLEMS OF IMPORT SUBSTITUTION IN THE COMMUNICATIONS AND TELECOMMUNICATION INDUSTRIES

The Russian communications and telecommunications industries are currently forced to operate under unprecedented geopolitical pressure, expressed in large-scale sanctions imposed by Western countries in the form of significant restrictions on the supply of critical telecommunications equipment and technologies to the Russian Federation. Under these conditions, the import substitution of equipment in the communications and telecommunications industries is becoming one of the key factors in ensuring the functioning of the telecommunications infrastructure, maintaining the competitiveness of domestic operators and, ultimately, the technological sovereignty of the country. The article highlights the threats to the competitiveness of companies in the communications and telecommunications industries in Russia under sanctions pressure. The author summarizes the problems of import substitution in the communications and telecommunications industries in the Russian Federation and develops proposals for their solution. The article will be of interest to managers and specialists of telecommunications companies, as well as to researchers dealing with issues and problems of import substitution and economic security in the face of external constraints.
