The article examines the institution of a significant change in circumstances in modern civil proceedings in Russia. The subject of the study is the norms of civil legislation and judicial practice related to the application of Article 451 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, with a particular focus on the conditions for the functioning of this institution and the specifics of its implementation in law enforcement. The scientific novelty of the work lies in identifying the problems of law enforcement and proposing ways to address them. The main results of the study include the systematization of the conditions for the application of this institution, the analysis of judicial practice, and the formulation of recommendations for improving legal regulation in this area.
