Issues of reducing soil fertility and soil degradation of agricultural landscapes in connection with intensive agriculture are considered in a review article. The need to switch to organic farming, the basis of which is the use of organic fertilizers, minimizing or completely abandoning the use of mineral fertilizers and pesticides, is emphasized. This issue is especially relevant for the Krasnodar Territory in connection with the adoption of the regional law "On the Development of Organic Production", which will enter into force in 2020. Therefore, today one of the tasks of agriculture and ecology is the development of methods for producing organic fertilizers based on wastes of various origins.
