The working-out of modern autopilots is aimed at ensuring the safety of navigation. Using intelligent systems, including methods that process large data sets, especially in real time, expands the autopilot functionality, contributing to the timely assessment of the current navigation situation.
An approach to the organization of monitoring the objects movement on sea surface on the example of the water area of the Amur Bay and the Golden Horn Bay of the Vladivostok city, Russia using a software and hardware system for traffic control for coastal waters described in present paper. The system for traffic control for coastal waters designed on base of packet data real time transmission technologies and a satellite navigation system.
The paper presents a scheme of traffic control for coastal waters, and the intelligent autopilot operation algorithm with extended functionality. Using machine-learning methods for analyzing the information received contributes to a quick and accurate analysis of sea navigation situation, as well as to determine the danger degree of objects on sea surface in navigation appraisal zone.
Keywords:navigation safety, intelligent autopilot, sea surface object monitoring, satellite navigation system, traffic control system, automatic identification system.
