The article examines the potential and perspective directions of development of the tourist industry in the Western economic zone of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Traditionally, this territory had a pronounced industrial profile. But changes in the image policy of the republic, branding and the formation of a new tourist product could have a positive impact on the development of tourism and the attractiveness of the territory.
