Using the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky as a case study, the paper examines how musical art contributes to the process of national self-determination and self-identification. The phenomenon of musical art is highlighted as a crucial element necessary for establishing channels of artistic and aesthetic communication that facilitate ongoing intercultural dialogue.
